Revival - honesty

Psalm 32 is Davids account of the process he went through to discover God’s mercy and forgiveness, after he lied, committed Adultery and murder. There is a physical, emotional and spiritual consequence to living in unconfessed sin. We are as vulnerable to sin as David, if we conceal our failures instead of confessing them, we live under God’s convicting Spirit. As worship leaders let’s follow David in Psalm 32 and lead worship freed from the weight of unconfessed sin public or private. As worship leaders, let’s camp on this passage. I do not believe we can accomplish verse 11 for God's glory unless we take serious verse 5. Get in there - listen - obey-

Revival - Humility 3

Pride will blind us to our own spiritual condition.

Focus Verse
1 Peter 5:5-7
5 Young men, in the same way be submissive to those who are older. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." 6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

This week in your personal worship time, use this scripture and ask God to reveal what it means to be “clothed with humility”
1 Peter 5:5-7
How might home, work, church, worship, be different if we were “clothed in humility”?

Revival - humility 2

Pride is a roadblock to revival. Pride will blind us to our own spiritual condition. Pride keeps us at arms length from God.

Focus Verse
Psalm 10:4
In his pride the wicked does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.

This week in your personal worship time, use these verses and ask God to reveal what each says about pride. How does God see pride? What will be the consequence of having a proud heart?
Psalm 10:4
Proverbs 8:13
Proverbs 11:2
Proverbs 29:23
Matthew 23:12
James 4:6

“The essential vice, the utmost evil, is Pride. Unchastity, greed, drunkenness, and all that, are mere flea-bites in comparison: It was through Pride that the devil became th edevil: Pride leads to every other vice: it is the complete anti-God state of mind”

Revival - humility

Pride is a roadblock to revival. Biblical humility is needed to begin down the path of personal revival.

Focus Verse
Luke 14:11
For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted
Going Deeper
Micah 6:6-8
Luke 18:9-14
John 13:1-17

As we take steps in personal revival, we are reminded of a passage from the 2 Chronicles 7:14 This passage was directed at the nation of Israel, but the timeless principles have application for every believer.
What are the four conditions set forth by God for us in this scripture?
1.
2.
3.
4.
Prayerfully consider why humbling ourselves is the first step. Ask God what that means for you as you worship Him this week.

The Tools Of Music 3 - Tonal Harmony

Interval: An interval is the distance between two notes. Intervals are counted from the lower note to the higher one. Intervals come in different qualities and size. If the notes are sounded successively, it is a melodic interval. If sounded simultaneously, then it is a harmonic interval.

The smallest interval used in Western music is the half step. A visual representation of a half step would be the distance between a consecutive white and black note on the piano. There are two exceptions to this rule, as two natural half steps occur between the notes E and F, and B and C. A whole step is the distance between two consecutive white or black keys. It is made up of two half steps.

Interval quality can be described as Major, Minor, Perfect, Augmented, and Diminished. Intervals size can be described as: Unisons, Seconds, Thirds, Fourths, Fifths, Sixths, and Sevenths. 2nds, 3rds, 6ths, and 7ths can be found as Major and Minor. Unisons, 4ths, 5ths, and Octaves are Perfect intervals.
Using the C major scale identify the interval quality and size in respect to the keynote C.

When a major interval is raised by a half step, it becomes augmented.
When a major interval is lowered by a half step, it becomes minor.
When a major interval is lowered by two half steps, it becomes diminished.

When a minor interval is raised by a half step, it becomes major.
When a minor interval is raised by two half steps, it becomes augmented.
When a minor interval is lowered by a half step, it becomes diminished.

When a perfect interval is raised by a half step, it becomes augmented.
When a perfect interval is lowered by a half step, it becomes diminished.

INVERSIONS OF INTERVALS
Intervals can be inverted. The lower note is raised up an octave so that the top note/bottom note relationship is reversed. The chart below shows the inversions of intervals.

Qualities

* Major becomes Minor
* Minor becomes Major
* Perfect remains Perfect
* Augmented becomes Diminished
* Diminished becomes Augmented

Size

* 2 becomes 7
* 3 becomes 6
* 4 becomes 5
* 5 becomes 4
* 6 becomes 3
* 7 becomes 2
